Classic Make-Up Look: Red Lips

Red lips look absolutely stunning when done well. The trick is to keep the eye make up subtle or the lip colour sheer - a heavy eye paired with a bold lip looks tacky. How heavy or light you make up should be depends on your occassion, facial features, hairstyle and personality - only you can judge what is appropriate. Finally, well groomed eyebrows and hair are important to look polished.

Kate Bosworth's pulls off this 1930s look briliantly. Instead of using obvious eyeliner she has used a shimmery eyeshaddow paired with black mascara. Her lips are stained red for a more sublte look. She proves that black liquid eye liner paired with a bright red lip is not the only way to wear a red lip.

'Fall's Red Lip'

I just found this 1950s make up tutorial from VividMakeup. It features a gorgeous cat eye, that could easily be worn with a nude gloss for another gorgeous look, and of course red lipstick. I also love the way she did her hair. This would make a stunning, glamorous evening look.
